Elaine Pelke, age 84 of Kewaunee died on April 26, 2012 at Bellin Memorial Hospital. She was born September 17, 1927 in Algoma to the late Joseph and Mary (Delwiche) Buhr.
She graduated from Algoma High School and then married John Pelke on June 16, 1948 and he preceded her in death November 11, 2006.
She and her husband, John, operated Pelke Auto Service for forty-five years.
She was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Church. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Karen and Gary Jaeckel, DePere; Mary and Tim Kleiman, Kewaunee; one son and daughter-in-law: John A (Jack) and Laura Pelke, Kewaunee; four grandchildren: Michael Jaeckel, Green Bay; Kari (Denis) Jaeckel-Rodriguez, Evanston, IL; Ashley (Bryan) Pagel, Kewaunee; Brooklyn Kleiman, Kewaunee; three great grandchildren: Peyton, Bryley and Brynn Pagel; one brother and sister-in-law: Joe and Isabelle Buhr, Green Bay.
Friends may call from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 1 at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church followed by burial in the parish cemetery.
