James Orde

James Orde Sr., age 78 passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 with his wife by his side at their home in Kewaunee. He was born March 2, 1935 Kodan, WI to the late Prosper and Adele (Van Loo) Orde.

Jim married Shirley DeGrave December 11, 1954 at St. Peter’s Church, Lincoln and were blessed with three children who survive him: Vicki Fairchilds, AZ; Nancy (Thompson), Scott Buechner, Sturgeon Bay; Jim Orde, Casco; two grandchildren: Matt Thompson, (friend Kelly) Kewaunee; Brooke (Thompson), Jim Petrina, Sturgeon Bay; two great granddaughters: Taylor Jo Thompson (8 Yrs. old); Monica Violet Petrina (11 months old). Also surviving are a brother: Bob (Bernadine) Orde, Sheyogan; a sister-in-law: Marion Orde, Sheboygan; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Gary and Diane DeGrave; Henry and Wendy DeGrave; Richard Greening; Jean and Roger Kuehl; Sue and Norman Paplham; Florence and Bob Kaus; Jean DeGrave; many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are three sisters: Millie; Florence and Geraldine; four brothers: Harvey; Clarence; Donald and Marvin; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Donna and Norbert Fonferek; Bernard and LaVerne Kinnard; Calvin DeGrave and Myrell DeGrave; one sister-in-law: Phyliss Greeming.

Jim was a skilled tool and die maker, he enjoyed retirement, working in his prized garden, chopping fire wood, playing guitar and listening to old country music. His biggest enjoyment were Taylor and Monica, giving them “I love you hugs”.

Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Friday, December 27 at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee. Visitation continues at the funeral home on Saturday after 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Dcn. Robert Pribek Officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.

A very special thank you to Dr. Zenner and Dr. Kurowski and all the staff at Bellin in Kewaunee. Thank you to Dcn. Bob Pribek for all the kind words. A very very special thank you to my sister, Sue, my daughter, Nancy and my son, Jim for all they did for me during this trying time. Much thanks to Matt and Brooke my angels. Thank you to Mark and Kurt Buchanan and everyone for your thoughts and prayers, it will never be forgotten. God bless you all, Shirley.
