We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Buchanan Funeral Home
Corrine A. Pekarek, age 82, of Kewaunee, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2022, at Aurora Baycare Medical Center in Green Bay following a short but courageous battle with COVID-19.
The former Corrine Wilson was born January 29, 1940, in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Gehrke) Wilson. She attended Mishicot and Two Rivers Schools.
On June 30, 1962 she married Dale Pekarek at Holy Redeemer Church in Two Rivers. She worked many years at Paragon in Two Rivers and later at the Kewaunee Nuclear Plant until her retirement. She loved making crafts out of plastic canvas, especially crosses and spiritual items which she gave away to anyone she would meet. She enjoyed going to the casino and playing lottery tickets, thinking maybe she would "hit it big" one day. But more then anything Corrine loved her family. She was a very caring and patient mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She wanted so badly to see each one grow-up and have families of their own. She will be deeply missed by all.
She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Dale; her children: Doug (Mary) Pekarek, Dawn (Wayne) Kinjerski and Dallas (Pamela) Pekarek; her Grandchildren: Pamela, Danielle, Dylan, Renee, Dale, Roger and Justine; her Great-Grandchildren, Tatiyana, Bentley, Silas and Celine; her brothers: Joseph (Audrey) Wilson, Jr. and Ronald Wilson; brother-in-law: David Tice; and sisters-in-law: Lana Wilson, Mary Lou Wilson and Sharen Wilson. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Agnes Wilson; Father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Irene Pekarek; brothers, sisters and in-laws: Norman Wilson, John (Sherry) Wilson, Gerald Wilson, Richard Wilson, Roberta Tice, Joan (Jim) Taylor, Doris (Charlie) Kaiser, Shirley Doubek, Donald (Joan) Pekarek and Dayton (Irene) Pekarek.
Because of COVID-19 and Corrine's wishes, there will be a private funeral for her family only.
The family of Corrine would like to extend a very special thank you to Davita Kidney Center in Manitowoc for treating our Mom "like a queen"; Aurora Baycare Medical Center to all the doctors, nurses and staff that were very compassionate to our Mother and to our entire family, especially to the nurses that were with her giving her extra love by holding her hand, talking and singing to her. Thank you to Transportation Service of Kewaunee, and especially Jean Robinson, for helping us get our Mother to dialysis each week. Also, Thank you to Carlton First Responders and Kewaunee Rescue, our community is better because of caring people like you. To all of you we cannot thank you enough for your compassion and care to our Mother and our entire family during this time.
